PCS Offers New Paid Benefit to Employees

Starting January 1, PCS begin to offer paid paternal leave for employees.

Full-time staff members employed with PCS for at least one year qualify for paid paternal leave for the birth or adoption of a child.

With the implementation of this policy, PCS will become the first Community Mental Health Center in Tennessee to offer this benefit.

Jimmie Jackson, President & CEO of PCS, stated, “The executive leadership team is excited to implement this new benefit that will invest in our workforce and ensure stability in a shrinking behavioral health field.” Employed at PCS for 26 years, Jackson has often seen unpaid leave as one of the most common barriers for young professionals who cannot afford to miss work to start a family.

“Not being able to balance family and career life is one of the main reasons workforce members leave the behavioral health field,” said Jackson. “We believe this will improve overall employee retention, provide gender equity, and create a better work-life balance as team members plan for families. We hope this new benefit will help strengthen long-term career opportunities within our Agency.”
