The Peer Support Center program at Professional Care Services is led by Certified Peer Recovery Specialists and other peers, who work with individuals who have a mental illness or co-occurring disorder.

This program focuses on promotion, intervention, and recovery support services for the individuals and families served. Goals include developing a personalized recovery-based program to supplement existing mental health services by addressing issues such as social isolation and discrimination. The program maximizes experiences and opportunities for socialization, recovery, education, and acquiring the necessary skills to independently navigate various resources within the community.

The Peer Support Center program also includes transportation and funds, including but not limited to vehicles or bus passes, to be used by service recipients who need assistance getting to the centers.

Qualifications for participation in the Peer Support Center program are:

  • Resident of Tennessee
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Have a diagnosable mental, behavioral, substance use, or emotional disorder of sufficient duration
