New Partnership with UTHSC Mobile Bus

December 14th marked the first day of the new collaborative partnership between PCS and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center to provide ongoing primary care services onsite at the Ripley outpatient clinic.

The new UTHSC Bus will be onsite every Thursday at the PCS Ripley Office located at 403 Commerce Street. The partnership will allow PCS and UTHSC to collaborate in providing comprehensive psychiatric mental health and primary care services at one site. The UT Mobile Bus Unit is fully staffed with a Family Nurse Practitioner and Team to provide primary care services.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), people with a serious mental illness die 10 to 25 years earlier than the general population largely due to the lack of access to primary care services. PCS is excited about this new partnership and the impact it will have for our patients and our community.
