Behavioral Health Safety Net Services for Uninsured

The Behavioral Health Safety Net, or BHSN, program provides essential mental health services for children and adults who lack behavioral health coverage.

Through over 130 locations across TN, individuals can receive outpatient services such as case management, psychiatric medication management, and assessments and evaluations.

Current eligibility requirements are as follows:

For adults:

• Primary qualifying mental health diagnosis
• No other behavioral health coverage
• Income at or below 138% FPL
• Tennessee resident
• US Citizen or qualified alien

For children:

• Primary qualifying mental health diagnosis
• Age 5 to 17 years
• Tennessee resident
• Not in a long-term inpatient or residential facility or state custody
• US Citizen or qualified alien
